Welcome to the Falkland Elementary School Media Center! |
The Jane Reel Media Center is the heart of learning at Falkland Elementary. It is a place where stories come alive, curiosity is sparked, and students are encouraged to explore the world through reading, research, creativity, and collaboration.
Following the example of Jane Reel, who taught at Falkland for many years and for whom the library is named, we strive to not just teach but to inspire. Our goal is to cultivate a lifelong love of reading while helping students discover the joy of learning, asking questions, and seeking knowledge.
Through books, technology, and hands-on learning experiences, the media center supports the development of the skills and mindsets described in the American Association of School Librarians framework. Students learn to inquire and think deeply, explore new ideas, and engage with information in meaningful ways. They include diverse perspectives, collaborate with others, and share their learning with the community. Along the way, they curate resources, create new ideas and projects, and continue to grow as thoughtful readers, learners, and citizens.
The Jane Reel Media Center at Falkland Elementary School is more than a library, it is a welcoming space where imagination, discovery, and learning come together.
